We got to take some great shots 2nd time around with Shawan Emer in downtown Marietta Square. I am so happy with our Nikon D700 everytime we use it because the sharpness, clarity, and color is absolutely amazing. We absolutely loved working with this couple:) We met Scott and Elisa the week before their wedding and you never would think this couple had been together for 13 years because their love for each other was so fresh, beautiful, and contagious. We were so honored to be a part of their big day not only because it’s one of the biggest day of their lives but WE had a chance to capture a love that spread to everyone that met them. I introduce to you Reese and his sock monkey themed birthday photoshoot:) He will be turning one this summer and is looking forward to his 1st year of adventure. We found a beautiful location next to the Smyrna Community Center called the Village Green and funny enough, the lake is full of koi fish that are longer than my arm and larger than my dog. While Marc and Jenie were comforting Reese, I had the chance to photograph their boston terrier, Zoe, who hardly moved the entire session. This blog posting has been a long time coming but I’m so proud to be sharing because this is one of my many passions: FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY. I get to not only play with color but I get to show a bit of FINE ART as well. Those who have been around me most of my life know that I’m obsessed with hair color or hair in general. I met Gigi through Toni & Guy and she now works at Balance Salon in Sandy Springs,GA. Our models are Izzy Nova, Necca P, and Dillon Knight. Considering that photo sessions never go as planned, they were troopers as we trekked through downtown Atlanta in the heat and patiently waiting for me to set up my lights. Of course, it doesn’t help that I dropped my D700 Nikon in the middle of Krog St. but it survived(barely). We shot at Krog St. tunnel, Oakland Cemetery, and Sister Louisa’s Church and Ping Pong Emporium.
I also want to thank Taylor Alisse Burre for her amazing makeup work and Petti May for assisting me with lights,scrim,etc… Our pictures would not be as good without our MUA’s, hairstylist, and fashion designers. Clothes provided by Buckle.
On Easter weekend, we had the chance to work with the Allen-Yelton family and Tracie and William’s beautiful twins,Sallie and Sam in Thomson,GA. I’d like to call these two miracle babies:) Tracie was in the hospital 3 weeks prior to having them and almost died due to complications. Sallie and Sam were born prematurely and had to be monitored for 2 months in NICU after birth. They are now healthy as can be and beautiful as ever. Congratulations to the Allen-Yelton family and thank you for letting us photograph your beautiful family.

Good morning friends! I know I’m not the greatest at keeping track of our weekly Monday musings. Basically, I’ve never been good on any kind of schedule so I just decided to write when I feel like it:) It just happens to be Monday. lol I was going to tile this ADVENTURES IN MARRIAGE 101 but it looks like I’m taking a different direction with this.
As I said before, I want our business to be more than PHOTOGRAPHY. I hope it can become a word of encouragement, a fun way to share with friends and family, a place of creativity reborn, and soon, we’ll have DIY ideas for your wedding or daily household items. We may even feature new artists including writers, painters, landscape artists, who knows where this is all going….who knows the direction we’re turning but I hope you all can join us in our journey and ADVENTURE.
Within the last couple of days, I’ve been praying and seeking the Lord on important aspects of my life and one thing that keeps coming to mind is OUR BUSINESS. Our faith should also include believing that he can help us in daily life whether it be what to eat or gaining the strength to start the day off right. I’ve never had a problem with PRAYING or I like to call it more of a daily talk with God…makes it more personal BUT I’m horrible at sitting myself down for 10 minutes to read the Word of God and I know so many that can relate with me. Again, I’ve never been good at the schedule thing but if we can make time for a 30 minute run, work, breakfast, lunch and dinner, oh and the latest episodes of Castle and The Walking Dead:) then we can make time for Him in the morning. Yes, again, I put God and The Walking Dead in the same paragraph. I’m good at the “double take.”
I need to take more time to thank Him rather than asking or comparing. He knows our heart better than we do and I have vowed to commit every aspect of our business to Him. We may not do everything right and we might have some hiccups along the way but I want Him to be the driver.
and again….remember this: It’s all about relationship not religion.
I’m excited about what He has in store for us and I hope you will join us in our ADVENTURE.

A Surprise Engagement: JCT Kitchen
I met Antonio about a year ago in a Walgreens here in Marietta as we waited about an hour for a nurse that was supposedly well known here in Marietta and not well known in a good way. Daybreak Studios received an email a couple of weeks ago from him and he asked us to photograph his surprise engagement at JCT Kitchen and Bar in downtown Atlanta. I was thrilled not only to photograph such a special moment but that he actually remembered that I was a photographer and looked us up! We were so honored to be a part of this couple’s engagement and despite the rain that night, we got some great shots. Congratulations to you both, Antonio and Shenika!
